Living in a small fishervillage, activities start very early in the day. The roosters are crowing at 4 am and at 5 am the sky begins to light. Dogs romp and play on the beach and the fishermen gather their nets, their engines, and their comrades to roll the boats down the sandy embankment into the sea. This is my favorite hour, it is still cool and the majority of movements are made by fishermen, fisher birds and every possible creature imaginable. Bringing the boats in is a community affair. Family and friends come running carrying the logs that will aid in rolling the boats up onto the shore. And for their help, they are awarded first selection of the day’s bounty.
