Donkeys

The donkeys in Ethiopia were put to work. Everywhere, they hauled, and carried, and pulled. At times it was quite heartbreaking to see, free of their packs, the poor beasts were visibly hurting, backs bent, hind legs dragging from being forced to carry too much weight. Of course I voiced my concern and wanted to get to work starting a donkey NGO. I learned there already is one! http://www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk/. We did see some interesting carrying contraptions. With great distances to travel to markets or to get water, the donkeys are an important resource and with proper training from the NGO on care and saddling techniques, they will benefit their owners with longer lives and a steadfast pace.
